Life, the Universe, and Everything

Welcome to my Blog.  I’m really not sure where this will take me, at the very least it will become a grand experiment in my various philosophical rantings.   At the most, it will become a grand experiment in my various philosophical rantings.  What ever it grows into, I’m hoping that you will journey with me as I continue to explore Life, the Universe and Everything.

I actually began the concept of philosophical rantings one late Thanksgiving night in 2014 on my Facebook page.  It started out with a simple thought of just wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, and it turned out into what I consider so much more.  Somehow I lost control of my fingers, began typoing, and the flavor of what I was writing rang true to me.  There were actually two posts that day, one in the early morning and then one much later that evening.

As I began to write and then publish my two posts, it dawned on me that perhaps philosophical rantings may not belong on a Facebook page. Just perhaps there should be a larger venue, a way to reach out to a larger segment of the world.  In my mind, Facebook should be more about having fun, it is and has grown to, what I might call “Life Lite,”  Posts of grandchildren, pictures of how I’m spending my summer vacation, weird videos that we all find amusing, and of course the per-requisite, “I’m at dinner and look at what I am eating” pictures.  The rantings of a “madman” really does not belong there.  Some may find it interesting, some may find it amusing, but I believe we all go to Facebook just to have fun.  I have reprinted my Thanksgiving posts within the pages of my blog.

Philosophical rantings designed to question how you think, that adds a different level of sophistication to our lives, that can potentially change “Life, the Universe,  and Everything” belong somewhere else.  In a special area that you, my constant reader, log into just think, and ponder our own existence in this world.

Where this will eventually go, I really do not know.  There is one thing that I do know though.  In my classes that I teach, no matter what the subject, I have one underlying goal in my mind, and of that goal I am very open in my lectures.  I want to change how they think about their world and the changes they can make in the lives of people around them.

And so, I have come full circle.  Welcome to my blog.  I am still not sure where this will take me, what journey I will be on, what philosophical rantings come out of the mind of this madman.  I welcome you not only to my Blog, but also as a passenger on my journey.  Welcome to:
